‘An exceptional musician' - Sir John Eliot Gardiner

‘In the pit there’s a superb fortepiano continuo from Charlotte Forrest’ - The Times

British pianist Charlotte Forrest divides her time between the recital platform, the opera house, coaching studio and the concert stage. She made her Wigmore Hall debut in 2011, and returned in 2013 as a Kirckman Concert Society Artist.

Charlie Forrest is a Senior Vocal Coach for Glyndebourne Festival Opera, and currently a regular member of visiting music staff for ENO, Garsington, Grange Park, the Grange, Aldeburgh Music, Opera Holland Park, and Longborough Festival Opera. She spent the last 12 years on the staff at Opera North and collaborated regularly with Sir Graham Vick for Birmingham Opera Company. Internationally, she has been invited to join the music staff at the Opera Comique in Paris, Rahvusoopera Estonia, Bergen National Opera, and the Bregenzer Festspiele.

For nearly 20 years she has been Associate Keyboardist with the Monteverdi Choir and its orchestras, collaborating in over 30 projects with Sir John Eliot Gardiner performing in the Pisa Duomo, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Versailles and Paris Salle Pleyel. She is currently Associate Keyboardist with the Constellation Choir. She also works with the CBSO Choruses and Orchestra.

She is a Professor of Performance at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire where she regularly gives masterclasses, and is a visiting vocal coach in Opera at the Royal Academy of Music, London, and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Charlie is a regular guest artist on BBC Radio 3's In Tune and Opera on 3 and has appeared on Classic FM and BBC television accompanying world-renowned singers from Sir John Tomlinson and Dame Felicity Lott to Sir Tom Jones.
